“Oakton’s Got Talent” will showcase all the best of our Panther kids on March 15th and 16th.   If your child has  talent and wants to join our show, there are four ways to participate:

1. Create your own individual act.  Friends can join together or your child can go it alone for a song, dance, magic show, comedy skit, or whatever they can dream up.  Parent sponsors will sign up the group or student for an audition spot after school on December 5th, 6th or 7th from 4-5 in the Auditorium.  Acts do not need to be finished, but a good attempt to present the idea should be made.  For those acts that are selected, rehearsals will be scheduled after school as needed, beginning in January, but most of the preparation will take place with the help of  parent sponsors at home.

3. Do you have a 6th grader who loves the stage?  Then the MC job is for them!  Sign up to work with Ms. Conway to host our 2018 Variety Show.   Please sign your student up for an audition spot on December 5th, 6th and 7th and note that he/she will be auditioning as an MC.  Auditioning MCs will be asked to tell a joke, do an impression of one of the “America’s Got Talent” hosts, and also do a cold reading from our script.

4.  Not interested in being in the spotlight, but might want to RUN the spotlight?  We need a crew!  If making the magic happen behind the scenes with stage, lights and sound crew is your child’s thing, and he/she is a 6th grader, sign them up for crew.  Mr. Jeff Wright will be in touch in February, and stage crew will start meeting closer to the show date in March.
